Kayla Miranda Volunteers as Junior High Coach

Coaching basketball has become a passion for Kayla. She volunteered as assistant coach for Highland Junior High's 7th and 8th grade girls basketball teams this season. She enjoyed showing the girls drills that they would be doing in high school and helping them with skills like man-to-man defense, setting correct screens and good passing.


The 7th grade finished the season 6-7 and the 8th grade finished 11-2, narrowly losing a repeat sectional championship to rival Gilbert Junior High. 

 

 

Arizona Sting Take 3rd at Thunder Tourney

The ladies of the Arizona Sting Grey worked hard this past weekend, taking 3rd in their first tournament of the Spring. Kayla Miranda played strong and brought her signature defense and scoring in key times throughout the weekend. "I was so impressed with the girls with such a few practices you could see the chemistry by the end of the tournament was strong. We had a simple main goal, get better each game and we did. An OT loss in the semis, and coming back strong for a 3rd place game, a coach could not be prouder." Coach Alonzo. 

Arizona Sting at Thunder Sr. Spring Tip Off

Kayla Miranda and the Arizona Sting Grey will be playing in the Arizona Thunder Senior Spring Tip Off Tournament March 24-25, 2012 at Moon Valley High School in Phoenix, AZ. Follow the action as The Sting bring their lightening fast game and intense defense - AZ Thunder Spring Tip Off - Gold Division.
