Coaching basketball has become a passion for Kayla. She volunteered as assistant coach for Highland Junior High's 7th and 8th grade girls basketball teams this season. She enjoyed showing the girls drills that they would be doing in high school and helping them with skills like man-to-man defense, setting correct screens and good passing.
The 7th grade finished the season 6-7 and the 8th grade finished 11-2, narrowly losing a repeat sectional championship to rival Gilbert Junior High.

She’s a fierce defender that enjoys a physical game. Her defensive skills have denied top scorers from schools across Arizona and the nation. Kayla Miranda possesses leadership, discipline and drive on and off the court. Her work ethic and focus ensure success in academics and athletics.
